FAQs
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Prior to the wedding ceremony, we will be serving a optional breakfast between 8-9am. The Wedding Procession will take place from 8:00-8:20am. This is a lively celebration, prior to the wedding ceremony, filled with music and dancing. All are welcome to attend! We kindly ask guests to arrive no later than 8:30am for the wedding ceremony.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is Black-Tie Optional.
Indian/Sri Lankan attire for the wedding ceremony is encouraged, but not required. Feel free to use any of the sites below to purchase cultural clothing or to use as inspiration:
Please note, there will be time to change attire between the wedding ceremony and reception if any guests wish to do so; however, this is not required.
Is there a color I should avoid?
We ask guests to please refrain from wearing red, white or black for the wedding ceremony. Black for the reception is completely acceptable!
What will the ceremony be like?
The ceremony will take place in the morning under a canopy-like structure called a mandap for about 1.5 hours. A Hindu priest will officiate the ceremony and numerous relatives will perform specific roles under his guidance.
The bride and groom will be seated in front of the priest for most of the ceremony. The priest will recite verses in Sanskrit, but will also provide English explanations of the rituals. The ceremony will involve mostly Tamil customs.
More detailed information will be available in our wedding program.
Can I take and post photos?
While we love photos, we do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony; we'd like that time to be unplugged. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to take and post pictures! Our wedding hashtag is #FromLoversToLeons.
Are children allowed?
Children are welcome to attend the wedding ceremony. As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the reception. We are looking forward to having our guests relax and enjoy an evening of celebration.
Will the events be held indoors or outdoors?

Hindu Ceremony: Indoors
Cocktail Hour: Indoors/Outdoors
